Lucknow Kurti in Bangladesh
Silk N Linen sells original Lucknow Chikankari kurtis and dresses in Bangladesh, from a showroom in Uttara, Dhaka and online with delivery nationwide.
What a Lucknow kurti is
Chikankari is a fine shadow-work embroidery associated with the city of Lucknow. In Bangladesh the garment is usually called simply a Lucknow kurti or Lucknow dress. The same style is also written Lucknowi or Lucknawi — all three refer to the same embroidery tradition.
The work is done in fine thread on light fabrics, which is what gives a Chikankari piece its weight and drape. Our Premium Lucknow line uses finer thread and denser hand embroidery than the standard range, on viscose and modal shirting.

Buying in Dhaka
Our showroom is at House 46, Road 18, Sector 7, Uttara, Dhaka 1230, open 10:00 am to 1:00 am, Sunday to Saturday. You are welcome to come and see the embroidery in person before buying.
Delivery across Bangladesh
We deliver nationwide and worldwide. Orders are dispatched within 24 hours and paid by cash on delivery. Delivery is free on orders above BDT 10,000. Please note there is no exchange after delivery.
Caring for Chikankari
Wash inside out with shampoo rather than detergent. Detergent is harsh on the fine embroidery thread; shampoo is gentler and keeps the work looking new for longer.

Is it spelled Lucknow, Lucknowi or Lucknawi?
